I flew down with Jennifer Appel, landscape architect and fellow Texas A&M Aggie, to look at the roof space for a green roof installation. Jennifer has successful green roof installations in Houston, and seems to have a system for intensive green roofs that work in warm climates.

Since then I've built a small 16 sq ft test plot in Austin, based on her design. Weight, not insulation, is our primary design limit, and her design weighed less than 5 lbs/cubic foot dry. I'll plant it for a fall garden when I return.
