28 Dec 2005, Christmas in the D.Q.The Don Quixote apartment is officially open. We'd stayed in it before, but it was missing some critical furnishings to be able to really enjoy it. This week we've managed to procure the last major piece of furniture, and are taking the apartment out for a spin, so to speak. 
Construction is finishing up on bedroom #5, studio #3, bathroom # something, and the new entrance and patio. Floors have been going in this week, I'll have pictures shortly. So besides the house, how are things going? The weather down here has been typical January weather - clear skies, highs in the low to mid 70s, morning temps in the low to mid 40's. Something I wish I'd brought? Warm slippers. A sweatshirt works for me in the mornings and evenings, although if it should cloud up I'm not sure it would be sufficient. The town was pretty quiet Christmas eve, while there were lots of fiestas going on, they were in the families houses, and most of the shops and restaurants shut down early. The quiet continued through Christmas day, but the day after brought the city back to life. |
